i am so sorry i’ve been so absent! i have been working my butt off but it’s still no excuse. as payment i will be putting up some hair tutorials in the next week. here is a preview of the styles:

    1. maiden braid headband
    2. no heat vintage curls
    3. milkmaid braid

these are a few of my favorite styles and they are super simple :) they’ll be up soon!

i was VERY into nail art for a few months. these are some of my favorites. if any of your want to try out this adventure here are some tips:

    • paint in very thin layers. the thicker they are the longer they take to dry and the easier they are to mess up
    • wait for each layer to dry completely, if you don’t the layers will smear.
    • for small details, a toothpick or an old liquid eyeliner pen works great
    • if you get frusterated, which i did often, stay calm! almost anything you do can be fixed.
    • have fun watching people look in awe of your super awesome nail art skills!

    DIY Boyfriend’s Shirt Dress

Today i felt like wearing a shirt as a dress. This DIY is really simple and can be used when you’re in a pinch:

    1. button shirt up til it fits around your chest comfortably.
    2. take the sleeves in both hands
    3. tie the sleeves together
    4. make a bow with the sleeves

    easy-peasy!

    • paper flower bouquet
    • floral headband
    • alexander mcqueen inspired clutch
    • book clutch
    • face/mouse flats
    • polaroid scarf
    • dress reconstuction-heart back dress
    • blazer reconstruction

    can’t wait to get started!

so i made this simple DIY bleach pen shirt for the harry potter premiere last thursday and i thought i’d share! the bleach makes cool sketchy lines that almost look burned and is easy to control in pen form. i don’t have the step by step but its pretty simple:
What You Need:
a bleach pen
a dark colored shirt
chalk
some wax paper (or tin foil if you are out of wax paper like me!)
Instructions:
lay out shirt and sketch out design with chalk, this wil lessen your chances of messing up your design
when you’ve decided on your design, line the inside of your shirt with wax paper so the bleach won’t bleed through to the back.
take bleach pen and SLOWLY go over the chalk lines making sure if the bleach pen bubbles to stop and clean the pen. i didn’t and there are a couple of areas with spilled bleach that could have been avoided.
wait five to ten minutes, or until you can see the outline of the bleach begin to color the shirt.
in the sink, wash off all of the bleach making sure to check for extra bleach that could dye the shirt in any way.
wash and dry shirt before wearing.
enjoy your new shirt!

ok for my first step by step i’m going easy. this is an essentially free project if you have some string lying around! here is the end result we’re going for:

a cute little festive bunting that can be personalized in so many ways! i love how simple this project is and it being free is a great perk!

i made this lovely rainbow cake for a friends birthday. it’s super fun and really easy to make. here’s the recipe i created by looking at other recipes:
Ingredients/Supplies:
two boxes of white cake mix
two-three containers of white frosting
a box of store-bought gel food coloring
round cake pan
Directions:
follow directions on box on setting the oven and mixing the batter, but only mix slightly (you will be mixing in the coloring and don’t want the bater over-mixed)
separate batter evenly into six different containers of the same size (i used tupperware because it’s easy and cheap)
mix in each desired color (it may take quite a bit of coloring to get the desired color, especially red because it often looks pink like mine turned out)
bake each round separately for around a third of the time the box says. test with cake tester to make sure.
completely cool cakes before stacking!!!
stack each layer giving each a good coating of frosting to make them stick together and not fall.
enjoy the surprised look on your friend’s faces when you cut into this magical cake!
